Ilha could barely keep himself from jumping up and down in excitement as he scrolled through the photos on his camera. This was it – this was the one that would make him a household name! He had been waiting years to capture this exact moment, and here it was, right in front of his lens. The proud lion, its mane flowing in the wind, mating with its beautiful lioness… Ilha couldn’t have asked for more.

He quickly uploaded the photo to his website and sat back to watch as the likes started pouring in. Within minutes, it had gone viral, shared by people all over the world. Ilha’s phone rang non-stop as reporters from every major news outlet.

Photographer captures never-before-seen moments of lions in the wild, 55-year-old photographer Vclav Ilha did such a great job. He snapped on his camera the grinning face of a lion when mating with its lioness in the Massai Mara National Reserve in Kenya.

The lion stood on his hind legs, proudly displaying his impressive teeth as he prepared to mount his mate. The lioness lay on the ground below him, raising her tail and provoking him by rubbing herself against his feet. The male lion followed her eagerly, for the female left behind a strong odor that signaled her readiness to mate.

Mating sessions between lions can last up to five days, and they typically mate around two hundred times during that time. Each mating session lasts just twenty minutes, but they take a break of about an hour between each one.

Giraffes are one of the most majestic animals on the planet. They are also one of the tallest, and can be seen drinking water from tall trees. This particular giraffe, however, was quite extraordinary, due to the fact that it could never properly drink because water kept falling out! It was a sight to see for sure!

We were all so excited as we awaited a pride of lions at the water hole. However, they never showed up and instead, we were graced with the beauty of a male giraffe. At first, nothing seemed unusual about him. We assumed that he was just another dominant bull that spent most of his time alone.

However, as we got to know him better, we realized that he was anything but ordinary. He was actually quite friendly and would come over to drink from the water hole whenever he felt like it. This ended up being a very special and rare moment for us. We were able to get close to him and even touch him! It was an amazing experience that I’ll never forget.
